New Years Intentions - Guided Prompts
New Years Intentions – Guided prompts
Happy New Year! The new year is a wonderful time to check-in, reflect and set your intentions. I think the pressure of New Year’s resolutions can sometimes make our intentions come from a place of judgment and restriction – so instead of approaching as ‘I won’t do XYZ’ we instead write… ‘In 2024, I will be the type of person who…’ When we approach our resolutions with a restriction - we strengthen the most common and biggest limiting belief of ‘I am not enough’ . All our subsequent actions - although we think they’re bringing in positive change - can strengthen this neural pathway, and when we don’t believe we are enough - we won’t believe we are worthy of all our goals and desires… it’s also much more powerful to imagine in detail what the change will be - ie. the person who maybe doesn’t smoke - instead of writing ‘stop smoking’ we think and imagine: what are they doing instead, how do they FEEL? When we access this emotion and feeling in our imagination we can bring it into our reality.
I love to use the moon cycle for intention-setting, the next one is January 11th. Our opportunity for change and renewal is constant, but using the energy of the new moon is so powerful and helpful. I don’t believe that we ‘break’ our resolutions - this all or nothing approach can again take us to a place of punishment/ restriction and is the opposite of self-love, having compassion and patience.
Let’s first check-in with ourselves and our gratitude. Manifestations don’t come from our thoughts, but from our subconscious beliefs, so first, I love us to remind ourselves of everything we’re grateful for and how we are worthy of everything we wish to manifest
Please reflect on everything you’re grateful for – remember it can be everything and anything – the simple and the ‘obvious’. You can write this as a list or however it feels best for you
The next exercise, we reflect on everything we like about ourselves – again this can be vague or specific big or small!
After you’ve finished, please sign off ‘Thank you for being perfectly you, I am growing to accept and love myself unconditionally’ (and anything else!)
I like to remind myself of this as much as I can, self love and worthiness is the foundation for all our manifestations and positive change
1. Remind yourself of your word for 2023
2. If you were to feel this word in a part of your body, where does this word sit
3. Place both hands on this part of your body and visualise a bright white light entering the crown of your head and send this light to this part of the body
4. If you were to identify a ‘fear’ what would this be, and how is it holding you back
5. Shake your hands and imagine any heaviness of 2023, leaving your body, you can get up and shake too, complete this intuitively, you’ll know when to finish
6. Take your hands in prayer position and place on your third eye – ask that your 2024 Intentions are guided by intuition and your higher self
7. Written Exercise: reflect on a time you felt most ‘at peace’ – describe this moment in detail and sit with this moment – really taking yourself back to this ‘feeling’
8. Embodying this feeling, complete your intentions “In 2024, I will be the type of person who….’ Complete however many you like!
9. Think if there’s anything themes with these intentions and now select your “word” for 2024. Intuitively decide where you want to ‘place’ this word in the body, take both hands and imagine a bright white light going from the crown of your head, travelling into the space you desire
10. I like to take an A4 piece of paper and complete four sections titling the top of my page with my word for 2024 : I then title each section with a different theme of my life: “relationships // health // job-satisfaction/money // AOB” but this should be personal to you – it could be “travel // facing fears // anything you think is best’ and listing specific tangible things under each header – but reminding yourself of the true intention of: peace and if they correspond to your word of 2024!
11. Manifest-test: I love to complete a manifest-test at the start of the year, just to remind myself how we really can bring anything into our reality – think of something really random (for me I’ve done a specific flower before / specific animal) and ask that this manifestation come through soon, once we see to believe, we accelerate all our other manifestations!
Happy New Year
